More from Astoria

These first pictures were taken on Monday evening between 9:00 & 10:00PM...

The first one is of the Young's Bay Bridge between Astoria and Warrenton, OR and the others are taken of the Megler bridge between Astoria and Chinook, WA... It truly stays light here until about 10:00PM...that's not so good for an old gal who likes to go to bed around 9:00PM...well maybe 10:00PM...and sometimes even 11:00PM...Just depends what's goin' on...or not...
Yesterday wewent to the Gray's River Falls with Kaley leading the way...well, we ran into a huge constriction site...but in the end we made it there... We have found that in other states...the road safety regulations for road work are not the same as in CA...you just ride along the roads with the big equipment...it is really crazy...But we got there and it was worth the ride...but you gotta know that this "Old Broad"...was not in her element...I had to "HIKE" down to the river...now remember it was 93 degrees here...never that hot in Astoria...???...and I can't usually make it through the grocery store...on flat ground... without sitting down...Well...off we went...knowing all along that "what goes down...must come back up"...
Isn' it beautiful??? This was taken at the top of the hike down to the river bed...See Mike and Kaley...if you check out the slant of the foilage on the right you will see the grade of the path down to the river...I sure wish I had take a picture of the path before we started back up...then you'd be really impressed...I hate it when Mike takes pictures of me...but this one is OK...atleast you can see that I really did make it to the bottom, all the way to the river...It was truly a beautiful sight...and I would make the trip again...There is really nothing like a beautiful waterfall...there were lots of people down there getting cooled off from the very un-common heat of the day...Kaley did stick her toes in the water...but that was as far as she went...sometime I would love to take a picnic down there and let her and a friend play in the water...It would make a nice day and a great blog posting...
There is this little cave looking place along the pats...a good location for a Papa and Kaley Picture...We are really enjoying our stay here in the BPNW...there is really nothing in the world like it...
